ForkYa! is a mobile application designed to extract nutritional information from food images and voice descriptions using a third-party AI service. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how your data is handled. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights.
2. Data Collection
ForkYa! does not collect or store personal information such as names, email addresses, or other identifiers. No user accounts or profiles are created. The app collects the following data, stored locally on your device:
- Food Logs and Images: Photos or voice recordings of food items you scan or describe for nutritional analysis.
- Subscription Data: For auto-renewable subscriptions, your Apple ID and payment information are managed securely by Apple and are not accessible to ForkYa!.
All local data is encrypted to protect your privacy and is not transmitted to our servers or any cloud storage.
3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Processing
To provide nutritional analysis, ForkYa! uses a third-party AI service to process food images and voice recordings. When you scan a food item or record a description:
- The image or audio data is securely transmitted to the service’s servers over HTTPS for temporary processing.
- No personally identifiable information is included in these transmissions.
- Per the service’s policies, this data is not stored or used for training purposes and is deleted after processing.
- No other third parties receive your data, except as required by law.
We do not share any additional metadata (e.g., device information, timestamps) unless necessary for the AI service’s functionality, and such data is anonymized.
4. User Rights and Data Control
You have full control over your data:
- Access and Deletion: You can view or delete your food logs and images at any time through the app’s settings or by clearing your device’s storage.
- Subscription Management: Subscription details are managed via your Apple ID in the App Store, and ForkYa! does not retain this data.
